Between printed and digital exposure, what is considered a valid Publication?

The more exposure you can get the better. Looking at the various different ways you can get your work published, online publishing can be great for mass exposure, borderline 'reputable' depending on the source (online reputations can be hard to validate). When listing out your accomplishments, it's a good idea to include valid and relevant listings, which in the past was limited to anything printed. Being right in the middle of the digital age, do you consider digital exposure such as blog posts and website features as Publications? Or should printed media reign supreme? If both, do you list them together or in separate categories?
