  • Hello all,
I've just set up a new website with Zenfolio.
Anyway, I'd love to hear your feedback on what I have built so far.

Here is a site I set up. http://gallery.cbennettphotos.com/
I'm not sure about the layout with the thumbnails down below the main image. Not sure if visitors will notice that they are down there if they have to scroll down to see them. What do you think?

    Cheers,
    Chuck

Hi Chuck, nice portfolio!  I too am not a fan of having thumbnails at the bottom of the homepage, in fact I don't have them at all.  I prefer to let the visitors see some images in the slideshow and then when they are ready, they can enter my site via the navigation menu that is readiy in view.  Attention spans are getting shorter and shorter so that was one of the reasons I chose to go with the "less is more" approach.
I like that you have your name in a handwritten font but I stopped to ponder the "Shutter Speed - Aperture - ISO" text beneath it.  Not everyone who visits your site will be "gearheads" like us so these technical terms may be lost on some.  Have you considered some sort of a tagline about your style of photography or the services you offer?  Something like that would be appeal to a wider audience.  Just some food for thought.  I personally don't have a problem with it because I understand the terms.  Keep up the good work!
    Cheers,
    Oscar

Well, I certainly understand the terms but it's still totally lost on me what they're supposed to tell me about the photographer or the site. [;)]
Btw., is the bright dot in the lower left corner of the logo image supposed to be there?

Hi, I'm new to this zenfolio thingy. Been using traditional huge prints and my Ipad for portfolio, but now decided to have a website that my clients can also view using their mobile. This is my site, do drop a few comments or so with your website link!

I've gone for the simple but nice Museum style for my first Zenpholio site. Feel free to have a look around. My favourite genre is macro (which is the featured home page gallery) though there are several galleries.
Known as "A View of the UK".

Nilesh - you have some really wonderful work!  Being a portrait guy, I really love your portraits!

Paul - Your macro work is amazing!  Loving the details.  I really need to get myself a macro lens ... one of these days!
  • eternalformseternalforms Member Posts: 67
Steve - the blog looks great!  I like your approach to photography and that you're sharing your ideas and techniques.  So many photographers are concerned with the newest, baddest, latest, greatest equipment!  Your approach is refreshing and creative!
