Greg, you asked what editing program I use for my sports posters.  I use Photoshop CS4.

Here's one of my favorite posters of one of the seniors on the football team.

    Tanny:

Great macro technique, Kev. Thank you for sharing. :-)

Using TTL flash and low down its ev comp to keep the shutter high & boosts the bokeh at the same time, if i may as just a year new shooter. :-)

    I like Dahlia. Great shot!

Actually, those flower pics are not technically macro (which is using a 1:1 ratio lens))....they are merely close ups. I'd never use a "flash" on a flower shot...it's way too harsh, and never direct sunlight either. Just a bright-cloudy day shooting environment.

Please see my 2 page online tutorial on flower photography.

Kev, since you brought up flower photography, I decided to post this photo from an orchid show that I attended last year.  I shot this and all the other photos in my Orchid gallery handheld using an SB600 mounted to the camera.  This is one of the better ones that I got from that show, but the rest are on my site.

Buck - I just visited your site - beautiful work!  I most enjoyed the winter picts (I can relate...I'm a Minnesotan) and the old barns.  You have a great eye for composition.  And your photos are very crisp!!!

    Keep up the great work.

I'm brand new to the forum so hello everyone.  My photography career is relatively young, but I'm well bitten by the bug.

I never thought any of my stuff was as good as what I've seen on Z, but I'm very excited about a recent capture.  I would LOVE to have some feedback on it.

    Hi Lee,

I like your photo.  The bokeh is nice. The statue in the foreground is echoed by the one in the background which sets up an interesting visual effect. Good layout  Your color tone of gray and green sets off a nice atmospheric effect.

Thanks for sharing and keep shooting!

     John,

Thanks so much for the feedback!  I had to go and look up "bokeh" LOL!  I originially found the forum by asking customer service how I might compete or apply for a spot on the front page slide show and all they gave me was a link here, but I must say I'm delighted to have discovered a community.

While I have your attention and you're being so kind, please check out my "co-best"

Apologies for the obtrusive watermark.  I don't seem to be able to remove it.

    Thanks again for the encouragement.

That's right, Kev. What's the rush when in the end just to bias to defamation caused by insatisfaction.

I like your articles and photographs. Email me for ratio 1:1, please do not use puns. I did not pun when i offered my photographs for free, it was only because i somehow as my intuition, felt, that it would not be taken for granted by someone i think is very special. :-)

Thanks for the kind words! I took a look at your site and thought your winter shots of the Cardinal were my favorites. Your senior shots look excellent as well.  Nice poses.

Tanny, nicely saturated. Sharp.  The blue of the building and the sky pull the image together nicely. The green is very rich. Nice work
