If there is music I request that there is an option to disable it. I hate when photography sites have music. Very annoying.

I agree with Pam, any music needs to be easily disabled, please.

It would be OK with slideshows (with an option to turn it off).  Since I am the web designer for a musician, please make sure you have permission to use the music, as Zenfolio would be liable for copyright infringement.

While I agree that it is important to not post any copyrighted material you don't have permission to use, I don't think Zenfolio would be guilty of infringement if one of their customers posted something infringing.

The DMCA includes a "safe harbor" provision specifically to protect service providers like Zenfolio. 

Many other services, such as Facebook, have found ways to allow music, videos, and photos -- without becoming liable for copyright infringment when a customer posts an infringing item. I don't see how Zenfolio is any different.

it may be a matter of time on all this catching up with other sites, but the rights/usage dance is on. had read a story some years ago that the copyright holders of the "Happy Birthday" song (two elderly sisters) were legally entitled to considerable royalties on all the "public" performances of their song! something to consider the next time we're in front of a candled cake...

yes, we "mod" ourselves by choosing not to read threads we don't want to. i believe the only ones required to read all posts are the zen team, and they have been known to cap discussions when they see fit. otherwise, choose wisely...

Regardless, for the sake of consolidation & keeping the forum in some kind of order, we dont need several threads discussing the same exact thing. When a new member with 1 single post makes a new thread about a topic that's been discussed for pages & pages, that usually tell you that they didnt bother to search or heck, even look down the page a bit.

And I'm not sure the team at Zenfolio reads or even visits these forums regularly anymore. So perhaps you're right, we're on or own here.
