We really need some new themes. When I visit other sites their themes look a lot cleaner and more professional. As far as text goes ours looks sloppy, no justification or boundaries, no control over color. I'm generally happy with Zenfolio but I think these areas could really use some improvement.

I've been asking for control over fonts -- at the very least over color -- for a long time. We need at least a few choices.

Futher customizing possibilities are soooo very welcome. When I look at sites from professionals, who host their sites via clickbooq, livebooks or photoshelter, I get a bit depressed that I'm not able to come close with Zenfolio as a homepage. I love Zen for all the convenience it has. But I'm really missing some 'oomph' in my site.

About 3 months ago I asked Zenfolio about customization capabilities.

The response was they were working on this issue and it was expected to be released very soon, not in months - in weeks. It was about 3 months ago, though.

I guess there are some implementation issues. They want to provide some kind of very high level interface instead of dealing directly with HTML and CCS...

I hope we'll get it soon.

Zenfolio staff has "never to my knowledge" given a timeframe on when any updates will be released.  They are very careful about that.  Giving time frames, dates, etc. only lead to greater frustration when they are not able to be kept.  I'm sure there was some misunderstanding with the belief that customizations would be available in 'weeks'.

In the mean time, I see we are expecting an update on Friday.  I for one am always excited to see what a new update offers.  :)

I'm looking forward to Friday, and I just want to say I continue to be extremely pleased with Zenfolio compared with other gallery-providers I've used.  They're still the best deal around IMO.
