cropping, file sizes, fotoflots desk stands - break up price lists?

So I'm looking at the various options available from fotoflots and trying to decide which options and sizes i'd like to offer for which photographs and I'm finding that if I do what I really want to do with the current system my number of price lists would go up real fast and quickly become unmanageble.

Currently I blame the "desk stand" options for fotoflots for the desire to double the number of price lists I run. Why? Because I don't want to offer the desk stands [like a 30x5 or 20x5] for my portrait oriented images and the only way to do that is have 2 price lists that offer the same print option [sizes, papers, frames] and then just disable the mounted options. But that would bring me from 5 price lists [all same prices, just different combinations of paper selections] to 10 that I'd have to manage and make sure formulas, paper sizes, etc are in sync. It gets to be a lot of clicking if I just want to make one change across the board.

So I started thinking about possible long term solitions -- we have digital products, different papers, different vendors, etc... Wouldn't it save everyone a lot of management time if we had the ability to create per-vendor price lists [including self fullfilment in there too]?

This way I could easily manage sales options in the following way:

    • which MPix group does this fall into [all paper types, b&w only, metallic only, big, small]
    • which fotoflot price list does this fit into - wall & desk, just wall, none
    • do i want to offer my favorite digital options for this image or not
    • do i want to offer keychains, trinkets for this image or not

With the inheritance system for price lists already in place this I think would save a lot of clicks and cut down on the number of price list options that need to sync -- for example you could have just one gifts price list and assign it as the default for all images in your site and if you ever want to change the price or add something you'd only have to do it in one place, rather then open all 5 or 10 different price lists currently that all have the same options set for this particular product type.
