After only doing photography part-time since Feb 2008, I feel that I'm beginning to understand all the implications that makes a striking photo: Vision (or previsualization), Spirit (being able to interpret something more than what is seen in the photo), Creativity ("you want a straight photo or want me to go nuts with my artistic license ?"), Serendipity (all about timing it right) and being able to pour it all in into firm mold that is a firm grasp that is "the Technique"
Other than the encouragements of the usual suspects (friends, family and co-workers), I decided (on a lark) to gauge myself against a few of the multitudes of very talented photographers by entering my first eve photo contest.
I was very pleased to have my photo "Theater Of The Heavens" (aka "Clouds" - Photo 26 in the voting contest) selected by the Zenfolio judges and would like to thank them and all the people who not only have voted for my photo - this confirms my gut feelings and other people's positive comments about my growth over such a short period of time.
But I would also like to thank everyone that voted for any photos for this not only benefits the contest winners but benefits Zenfolio by giving them a greater public profile and thus being able to increase our community.
After all, isn't a plurality of photographic points of views the cornerstone for any growth in any art ?
Sincerely,
Pascal Sauvé
