Each time when I log into Zenfolio homepage, I will always be greeted with the  same few old photographers feature photos.

It can be quite boring for new members too, I have friends asking me whether zenfolio is a dyanmic site or it is kind of static with not

much improvement and management. I told them "No", Zenfolio is always find ways to have improvement.

They asked.. > why there is no change on the featured photos and photographers.. why not have some kind of change quarterly or monthly and this will helps members to view more selected good photos ..

Hope zenfolio Adm can work on it. Just a feedback

I agree with you and that request has been raised before on this thread here. Maybe new sets of photos every week will be fine. I know Zenfolio will take action on that so we just need to wait, maybe they are busy on other things due to a lot of request they received recently.

How does an image got selected? Randomly or there's a submit button somewhere to submit them to be featured on the main page.

Currently , I think they are hand picked by Zenfolio team. It is not a open to public features.

The featured photos on Zenfolio main page has been changed. Nice to see new beautiful photos of some of Zenfolio members and hope to see more of them. Thumbs up to Zenfolio team.

Wow, that's great.  It's a very good new batch and shows a lot of range that we represent here.  I sure love those ducks from Erich Decker-Hoppen, and really glad to see Steve Hale "out front."  

However, they need to change the ezPrints logo on the left, since ezPrints doesn't do Fuji anymore.  (Just mentioning it here, rather than open a new thread about it.)

I think only Zenfolio Adm has the answer but it was not reveal thus far though sonnyc had already ask this question in the earlier thread.

There is no mystery. The images are picked by Zenfolio staff. Here's what I'm looking for when I pick my favorites (and my recommendation has some serious weight)

• The "wow" factor - some photos just make me stop and stare at them for minutes. These photos make me come back over and over again. These photos are prime candidates to be featured.
• Integration with the homepage. It may sound like an artificial criteria, but I would prefer for the featured photos to work well with the rest of homepage. Personally, I really like portraits of people or animals on a white background, which makes these photos play nicely with our homepage.
• We need images with landscape orientation to handle various browser sizes gracefully
• We try to pick images on a variety of subjects: wedding, sport, nature, macro, etc. to represent our customer population.

We are thinking about transferring the privilege of picking the featured images our customers. We will ask you to identify your favorites, and have some kind of a scoring system to pick the winners. What do you think?

I think that's a great idea!

I look forward to seeing something like that but the new photos give the site a whole new freshness about it.

       The images picked sure give me the "WOW" moment! Thanks for going through so many images and presenting these winners to us! ZF staff had done a nice job here! :-)

       On the other hand, I think it is a great idea to transfer that privilege to the registered users. It's definitely a great feeling to see our photo featured on the front page! Look forward to the scoring system.

I am sceptical when you give the public power :) While it is useful to have a voting system I can guarantee the usual subjects will get all the points, not saying they shouldn't as they are obviously very talented and get the results and hits. However how do I who have very limited traffic and may have "THAT" photo no one will ever know or vote for mine and as such stand no chance.

What I would suggest is a scheme or challenge perhaps ? That the ZF adm team can select for each qtr etc... That may suite a scheme they are working on. From there people submit and enter their 1 off entry. I know this is not new however it does give anyone a shot who wants a shot. Just a thought.
