    downloading

I have set-up my photos for a free download....   But, friends tell me they are unable to download... the file comes in--- then they are not able to do anything with it (save etc)  OR it just doesn't download.

One person finlay got the download to go; but only for 1 image

Yes, I have double checked my settings to allow for the download.

Any ideas on why this is not working very well?

    thanks

    Marni

    Hi Marni,

Try a test and download some images yourself. If you are able to download some of those images, try to get info about what browser your friends are using and which version of it.

If you don't mind post some links to the gallery with the problematic download that we can see what happens.

Other option is to contact support here with a copy of your problem and if possible the browser your friends are using. The support team can have a look at your setup.

Hi thanks response---  My friend having trouble is using IE version 8.   I am able to download and save.  Here's a link to the gallery http://MarniHarker.zenfolio.com/p567987435.  Any feed back on how to make the downloading work better is appreciated!

    Thanks

    Re: downloading

Did you go any further with this issue? I've tried it with IE8. When clicking download original photo there comes this stupid security warning at the top of the page. I allowed the download and nothing happend. But with the second try to download the photo I got the usual open or save dialog of IE8 and could successfully download and open the image.

Maybe the handling of this security warning of IE8 is the main problem for some but don't know.

    Re: downloading

I also do computer maintenance for customers.. (yeah I know, I do anything for a buck) and am thankful to Microsoft for IE8 because I have made some decent change troubleshooting computers and fixing issues caused by IE8 not playing well with other software and sites.  Most fixes have involved uninstalling it to go back to IE7 and then everything works for the customer.

Not saying that is 'the' problem, or even part of the problem...  just saying IE8 has been a nightmare to many...

    Re: downloading

At least I would expect that after accepting the download on the security warning that the download continues, but nothing happend. I had to click on the download photo once again.

In Firefox: click on download photo --> photo is downloaded --> 1 click

in IE8: click on download --> select option from security warning --> click once again on download --> 3 clicks and lot of mouse moves to the different screen sections. Angry
If I wouldn't be sure that I want to download it I wouldn't click on it, right?

Why is it IE8 the only browser that needs this security warning to be secure? I think this has no technical reasons. Must be the idea of lawyers.
