    Warning for insufficient resolution?

I seem to recall that the customer would receive a warning if they placed an order for a print that was much larger than the image's resolution would support.  For example, if a customer placed an order for a 16" by 24" print of an image that's just 500 pixels wide--a warning would appear.

That doesn't seem to be happening anymore.  Am I missing something?

    Thanks,

    Glenn

I have a few images that I cropped down on my page.  If I try to add them to a cart, it tells me the is insufficient resolution at certain sizes.  I can choose up to 12x18 but 16x20 and larger are not available.

I am using the list view for my cart instead of product groups, if that makes any difference.

    Re: Warning for insufficient resolution?

As a test, I just uploaded an image that's 60x60 pixels (a small thumbnail).  I then added that photo to my cart and selected a very large print (36" across).  No warnings.

I then changed my price list display to the list view rather than by product groups and added that same photo to my cart.  Still no warnings.

Perhaps it has something to do with using customized price lists.  I would like to activate a warning, though...as customers have no idea that the quality of the print will be very poor at those large print sizes.  And those are the prints that cost the most money!

do you have a specific photo I could check out that is small?  I went to your zen page and looked around but what I clicked on seemed large enough.

Yes.  Here's a very small photo (60 pixels)...

If you have your price list set to approve orders, then their will not be a warning.

    Steve,

I do have my price list set to approve orders.  I guess it makes sense that there wouldn't be a warning then as I might wish to replace the lower resolution image with one of a higher resolution.

However, it would be nice to have the option to turn that warning on or off.  I usually upload the original image and if there isn't sufficient resolution I would rather the customer know that upfront--especially since it isn't all that easy to revise an order.  Revisions require that I contact Zenfolio, cancel the entire original order, have the credit card refunded and then ask the customer to place the new order in hopes that they do it right the second time.

    Thanks for your explanation...
