Adding Keywords To A Group Of Pictures

Is there a way to add more keywords to a group of pictures that already have keywords on them. The keywords already on the pictures are different but I need to add a new keyword to all of them.

    thanks,

    tony

I'm not sure if this is what you are asking for but...

On you Edit page, if you are on your home page view and select a gallery, you can edit the keywords for the gallery.  I'm pretty sure this will just tag the gallery itself though (anyone please correct me if I'm wrong).  If you do a search for the keywords, the gallery should show, but the individual images might not.  In search you can filter between galleries, images, etc.

If you want to tag the images themselves, you might just have to cut and paste for each image.

    Tony,

I think I understand what you are asking, and right now I don't believe that's possible.  If you have everything keyworded 'wedding, reception' and want to add 'bride' to ten of them all at once by selecting multiple images, it will overwrite the other keywords and you will only have 'bride'.

This would be a great feature request tho.  I use ACDSee Pro and when batch keywording in there, using an '*' keeps the current content intact while adding additional, so in my previous example, I would enter '*, bride' and would end up with 'wedding, reception, bride'.  Feature request Zenmasters!  :)

Re: Adding Keywords To A Group Of Pictures

     Hi Kevin and Kevin,

Thanks for the replies. That is what I was wondering about. Flickr has this option in their organizer (I think that's what it's called). Before I became a Zenfolio user I was with Flickr. It was nice to be able to do that.

If pictures would inherit gallery keywords that would be ideal because I'm needing to add the same keyword to each picture in a particular gallery. One of the things that didn't seem logical to me when I first began using Zenfolio was that pictures didn't inherit the keywords of their galleries.

    Thanks for your help,

    Tony

I use lightroom to tag all my photos and try to think of all the tags I want before I upload.  In lightroom, you can select several pictures, add a keyword, and it won't overwrite the other keyword that are there already.  I export from lightroom to zenfolio using the plugin found on zen.  That then gives you the option to add additional keywords to all images when you upload.  It's kind of a pain to have to go back after the fact when you forget a tag.

Count me in. Even in PBase something like this is possible.

    I use ACDSee Pro

Good to know it's not just me and not just Lightroom or Aperture all over. I also swear by ACDSee Pro especially the latest version. And it comes with very good Zenfolio uploader.

Just a lazy amateur. Checking out Zenfolio.

I do use ACDSee Pro, and swear by it for price and what it does do, but often often often swear at it for what it does wrong much of the time.  It is a great idea for a program that could become a great program by fixing many of the little irritating issues it has.

But if I went to lightroom, I'm guessing there are things in there that are inconsistent and irritating.  :)

And yes, Pro 3.0's Zen upload is very sweet!
