I would like to be able to conduct a search (basic against title and keywords and possibly advanced) when in the edit view.
I keyword my images before upload with my ratings and would like to be able to quickly find my favourites in order to give them to clients in the form of a collection. Let's say I'm in one gallery - I would like to be able to do a quick search against only the photos in that gallery with a given keyword, then be able to perform a photo action against the selection. Currently I can only search in the customer view and then I'm unable to multi-select images to perform an action. A good example would be if I was to keyword all of the shots with flowers at a wedding in Aperture or Lightroom, then in Zen, I could quickly search for flowers within a specific album and send a link to a new collection to the florist.
While we are on the topic of search, why not also allow for smart collections where we can specify criteria for an album and have photos automatically appear. This would be great for portfolios etc. Depending upon where you make the smart collection, it would inherit the photos from folders / galleries in lower levels of the tree, but not higher ones (and maybe a setting to look across the entire tree).
Do you need to have search in edit view?
Currently search only supported in the customer view; there's no way to search your archive from the edit side in order to make collections of images from keywords, exif etc. This would be a great feature in order to make collections quickly.
Yes, I'd like to have search in the edit view (100%)
No, I don't see that keyword / exif searching for the photographer is a priority (0%)
