Selling Cards Through Your Zenfolio Website

I recently stumbled across a service that allows you to sell cards of your design by a link from your website.  It's called GREETING CARD UNIVERSE (GCU) and I've provided a link below.  The artist gets $0.50 per card sale and GCU handles printing, shipping, collecting payment, etc.  One of the advantages is that a customer can purchase as few as one or two cards at a time yet there are discounts for bulk purchases.

MPIX doesn't offer card sales through Zenfolio and cards ordered from MPIX, at least at this point, must be ordered with a minimum order of 25 cards.

I have two questions are as follows.

Has anyone on Zenfolio used GCU or a similar service?

Is a GCU link from a Zenfolio website OK with Zenfolio?  (Is it compatible with terms of use?)

Here's the GCU link FYI: http://greetingcarduniverse.com/community/card_widget.asp

I'm not sure what you mean by this statement: "by a link from your website". Unless I have missed something, you have to login to your GCU account, upload your image to GCU and create your card from within GCU. Chuck, I have been with GCU for awhile now. I haven't uploaded a whole lot of cards, though, and am just now getting my first $25+ payout. As with anything else, it depends on how active you are with uploading. Here's my link if you want to see how my account is set up with GCU. http://www.greetingcarduniverse.com/livinglife  GCU is a little limited in the creation aspect of the card because you can only have text on the right inside on a certain location. Fonts available for text are also very limited, and setting things up is a little clunky. There is also a restriction as far as to whether your card is accepted (in some cases), and how it places in views/searches if you just want to create a blank card. I have had some submissions rejected because it was just an image on front and blank inside. I don't think that is across the board, though, so I'm not sure how that works.

I also have a Zazzle account (http://www.zazzle.com/livinglife*). I like Zazzle better because you have more control over each side of the card (front, two insides, and back). The selection of colors and fonts is a lot better, positioning is better, and you can create templates for your cards so that people can customize titles, messages and images if they want to. I've had better success with Zazzle. Zazzle also lets you create different products (again, customizable if you wish) from the same images.

Thank you for your response Carolyn.  I'll be looking at your sites.

Let me explain what I mean by "by a link from your website."  I found GCU when looking at an artist's website.  There was an image of some cards and a link was provided that took me to her GCU page where one could purchase cards.  This appeared to be a handy way to sell cards from my Zenfolio website but I wasn't familiar with GCU or whether such a link would be acceptable to Zenfolio....thus my post.

Thanks again, I'll be following your links.

    Chuck
