Character Encoding and or Font requirements?

We have a Mac and are using Firefox as our browser.  We use the U.S. character pallet.  When we enter text, especially in the keywords section, characters aren't showing as typed.  For example, cut displays as c't.  What character encoding and/or font does the site require?

Just curious as to which version of Firefox you are using and what font and size you have set for your default? Also, do you have any themes in use on Firefox?

    Firefox Version 12.0.0.14
    Default Character Encoding:  Western ISO-8859-1
    Default Font:  Times 16
No themes as far as I know.

I frequently change from the Auto-Detect setting to Unicode UTF-8 as I seem to get the most consistent results using Unicode.  This has been especially helpful when replying to mail list messages using Microsoft Entourage to post to Yahoo discussion groups.  But it’s still not perfect.

Even if I change to Unicode when inputting keywords, etc. on Zenfolio, the characters type in correctly until saved, and then they display differently.  So far, it happens all the time with u appearing as ‘ ~ no matter what encoding I select.

This also happens when using Safari.

My font settings in FF are the default for Windows:

    • Western ISO-8859-1
    • Proportional Serif size 16
    • Times New Roman
    • Sans Serif Arial
    • Monospace Courier New size 13
    • Min Font Size none

Everything displays fine. Not sure if this might help, but here is a link to a fix posted by some Mac users who were experiencing a similar issue. It's old (2005), but you may want to check and see if it helps since the problem appears to affect any browser.
