Can image pixel size be disabled in upper right corner of "Add photo to Cart"?

So I followed ZenFolio's advise for the holidays to upload smaller images for display and use the fulfillment delay to upload the file size / full resolution image.

The problem I've run into is that the image size in pixels of the reduced size display image is shown to the customer in the upper right cover of the "Add photo to Cart" selection dialog.

Needless to say a customer buying a high resolution download or a large print isn't going to be interesting in ordering them when it looks like the image is 2 megapixels or less in size.

Does anyone know of a way to turn off the image pixel size display in the "Add to Cart" dialog?

I really want to self fulfill, for a few reasons, mainly because I want the photos shipped directly to me and then I will get them to my client to make it a more personal transaction and secondly because I don't want to always order from the same vendor. This being said, can anyone who does self fulfillment please share your site with me so that i can see how you have your custom products listed?

I use another service, but I find Zenfolio tends to be pretty elegant. However the service I use also allows me to replace the logo and mostly hide the fact they are hosting my photos.

So, if I'm reading things right, if I want to make it so that the essentially only place a visitor sees that they're viewing my photos via Zenfolio is say in the small print in the footer, I take it I have to get a "Premium" account? Ditto for putting my own logo at the top?

How do I embed a pic in Twitter so the image shows up but when clicked it opens up in Zenfolio on the Gallery side where the Image CAN BE ORDERED not just the direct link to the image?

Otherwise I have to show the pic in Twitpic and post another link to Zenfolio?

How to get Full paid account

Hi All

I am on Trial with Zenfolio at moment. I am in the UK.

I tried earlier to get a paid for account, alas, it has only American Express, Mastercard, Visa & Discover. I can't join as it don't have a Maestro card in there. I don't use Credit cards.

Any ideas as to how I can join?? I just worked hard in uploading photos to discover how it all works and i'ts a pity if Zenfolio do not cater for Debit cards here in UK.

Photo displayed size

Maybe I missed something somewhere. I'm a little confused as to why images I have in certain galleries are displayed smaller than other photos that measure smaller by pixel dimension. All my image access controls are set to "very large" (for consistency at this point).

For example, I have an image that looks quite large on the screen, it is displayed 1042 x 779 pixels and is landscape-mode. The next image is in portrait-mode, measures 920 x 690 but is displayed considerably smaller, the height being displayed shorter, at 920 than the first one at 779. And so it goes with several of my pictures.

All of this is in relation to the individual photo screen mode. Same layout for all in question.

Does the horizontal measurement have priority over the vertical dimension?

I'm new to Zenfolio so quite sure I've missed something here.

Photo for private galleries

I am in the process of migrating my photo albums from another site to Zenfolio and am wondering if is possible to import (or copy/paste) the guestbook entries that I already have on the old site to my ZF site. Anyone knows if that's possible? I would hate to lose all that feedback.

My domain is william-porter.net. Have my own home page there, hosted by another hosting service. Want to keep it that way. But I want "photos.william-porter.net" to go to my zenfolio "home" or index page.

Per the instructions here on the domain configuration page, I edited a cname record for my domain so that "photos" = www.zenfolio.com. Did that about an hour ago.

On the Custom Domain editing page, I've tried to click the second button ("point a custom domain...") and I entered "photos.william-porter.net" into the field that appears. When I click Test or Save, I'm told that it could not be verified.

Have I done things right? Do I need to make the change at my registrar first, wait a while, then make it here? Or have I goofed something up?

Trial version question on searching

7 days left and this could be a biggie for me.

I shoot races (triathlons usually) and usually have 3 or more race galleries up at a time. It seems that I cannot limit search to a single gallery. If someone searches for their race number, I don't want 60% or more of the pictures to be someone with the same number from a different race. Any suggestions to work around this? Are there other pro's shooting sporting events here?

I like the fact that they have coupons, but not being able to limit coupons to a specific gallery is a bit problematic as I don't want to discount art photos, but I can work around that by increasing the art gallery prices, so the search thing is probably a potential deal-breaker. I am processing photos for a race right now and need to decide if I will upload them here and cancel my other subscription or just stick with the other place I have been using.

Slideshow As Default?

Is it possible to make the slideshow the default mode of viewing when a gallery is clicked on??

The photos are much larger and takes the viewer through in presentation format rather than a bucket with photos that opens up.

hiding a gallery without requiring password

I need to be able to make galleries private - that is, keep 'em out of the index of my galleries on my zenfolio home page so they aren't found by somebody who's just clicking - but I do not want to force clients (and their friends and family) to enter a password. On SmugMug and Picasa Web Albums, this is easy: you make the gallery "private" and then (a) it doesn't appear in your list of public galleries, so nobody can click their way to it and (b) nobody can even guess the url, because it has a weird text string in it, like

http://picasawebalbums.com/myaccount/exampleRxk443lfdkjvMQ02

After that you can just give that url to folks by email, they click the link, and they're in.

Is this possible in zenfolio? I found an interesting message from a year ago by Kevin Thompson, who suggests the following steps:

Create a group (named, for example, "Private") and make it inaccessible to anybody except the owner.
Move the gallery I want to hide into that group
But make that gallery's own access public.

Bit round about, but it sort of makes sense. However, when I tried it, it doesn't really work. The gallery doesn't appear in my All Photographs listing, but it DOES appear in the listing of my recently added galleries.

Am I missing something? Is there a way to do what I want?

Hi All

I'm New here so Please excuse my ignorance on things. I applied for two Domains, .com & .co.uk and payed for them last week. Due to BSODs on my PC it's only today I've managed to try and log in to configure my Mail. Failed dissmally. The site is not protected and I can't access cPanel.

How do I find out if this hosting site is genuine or if I have been conned.

besthost.co.uk is their name.

I want to be able to Forward my Domain of .com into Zenfolio. On trial with Zen at moment, but am going to pay for it in next day or two. Great photo site is this.

I was disappointed to find, when logging in recently, that the Share button has some links for slideshows and encourages people to post them on social networking sites. If I wanted to share my photos, I would have used Flickr. I would really prefer to hide this button or feature, but I cannot find out how to do it.

Another Digital Download Question - Order Approval?

Is the order approval option any different for Digital Download orders? my originals uploads have a watermark, for prints I upload a replacement file. I'll primarily be selling low res files. I want to upload a low res file but not replace the watermarked image in my gallery - How will that work?

Sorting by Date Taken without EXIF info

Hi, I just signed and I'm trying to learn what I can to get up and running. I was trying to organize my galleries and I noticed that there was a function to sort by Date Taken but there is no field in the Photo Properties for Date Taken. Is it safe to assume that this only applies to images with EXIF info? The majority of my images are scans from 6x7 medium format slides so they have no EXIF info. Can the Date Taken field be added to the Edit Photo Properties dialog? What are my options?

Digital Download Options?

Am I missing something? I want to be able to sell a low res (facebook usage) image but the smallest size is 1meg.

Also I don't like the license terms - are they editable? I'd like a commercial option (monthly, yearly web use).

I have a feeling that I'm missing something obvious, but on many of the thumbnails in my galleries, there are little boxes with a W in the in the upper left corner. If it says someplace what these are for, I haven't seen it, what does it mean?

Why make the difference between galleries and groups?

Galleries can only hold photos. Groups can only hold galleries and collections.

So it is not possible to have galleries inside other galleries. And it is not possible to have photos directly next to a gallery.

Why not be able to have photos and galleries inside other galleries and just forget about the groups?!?

Can someone explain this to me...?

First let me apologize...it's been a long day and I'm tired. I just signed up for the 14 day trial. I downloaded 84 pictures for a client to view. I can't figure out how to get the client to the pictures. I will probably sign up for a year, but first I have to contact Godaddy...in the mean time, my client wants to see the pictures. How do I direct her to "my Zenfolio" site without giving her my login and password.
