    Sort by drag n drop

Hi there! Ok so I have so far figured out most of what this site does. I love it! However there are some minor things that keep me from using this site effectively in my business.

One of them is that I need to be able to drag and drop the photos to manually sort them so I can have a real portfolio.

When I go to sort the photos I don't want to sort by title or by upload order when I go back in a month later to add new photos. It takes a huge amount of time to rename everything. Is there any way for this to happen soon??

    Thanks so much!

FIrst, I wholeheartedly second the request for drag and drop sorting.  I just set up my site and have few photos up right now but I see the benefits of this.

Secondly, I am very impressed with the way your links to price list and sections within your site look and work in the profile section. You have given me something to think about and plan for.

well, you can't drag and drop photos (although that would be very nice), but you can manually sort them.

highlight the photos you want to move (use the ctrl button on the keyboard if you want to choose more than one photo) then click the arrow buttons at the top of the page to manually move the order of those images.

God yes! Really this feature is a no-brainer & should have been looked at by now.

Yes, manually sorting using the arrows is nice, but what happens when you have a big gallery & the photo you want to move is at the end & you want it towards the beginning?? Try it out & see. Basically, since you can't keep moving the photo forward to the end & have it come out at the beginning (which would make sense), you have to *click click click* going backwards until you get the photo where you want it. Not too good.

To top that off, you cant see the photo being moved if you dont have enough screen real estate, so you have to move it blindly  until it comes into view.

Sure, its always a good idea to pre-sort before you upload, but changes happen & are inevitable.

This one has been on our list for quite some time. We manage to always find a bigger fish to fry. We are getting closer to getting this done.

Re: Sort by drag n drop

Drag n drop would certainly be useful and nice to have for it's own value.  But even that would be cumbersome in some cases - for instance moving the first photo to the end in a large gallery.

Add drag and drop when you can, but also add the ability for the shift arrows to 'wrap' to the end or beginning.  If you are at the first photo, the 'Shift Left' arrow is disabled.  Likewise for the 'Shift Right' arrow when you are at the last photo.  Leave these enabled and shift the selected photo the other end when at one of the end positions.
