I just completed a national championship shoot where five cameras shot over 33,000 images in 4 days. Jason at Zenfolio had assured me, quite matter of factly and rather calmly, that I would have "no trouble at all pushing the images up, the only limitation would be my Internet pipe." Yeah, right.
Well, actually, YEAH! RIGHT! I am relieved to report that this was indeed the case. Using T1 lines I was able to push my images up using multiple computers into multiple galleries simultaneously with no hiccups whatsoever on the Zenfolio end...even though system maintenance occurred during my upload windows last week. I'm sure this maintenance window was just somebody at Zenfolio messing with me to see if they could cause a coronary. I set the computers up with 8K to 10K images a day, feeding to up to 8 galleries at once, crossed my fingers, and crawled back to my hotel at around midnight each night. When I arrived back at 6:30 or so the next morning the completed screens were sitting there as if to say "Yeah, what else ya got?" No errors, no problems, no kidding.
The galleries just went live today. Now we get to see how massive (we hope) order volume is handled. I'm not worried. No, really, I'm not. Really. I think.
Great job Zenfolio! Thanks for simply doing what you say you can do.
