    List of approved features updated

We updated the list of approved features. These features have a very high chance of appearing in future releases. We are either working on them, or have them on our schedule.

I think color conversion to B&W, Sepia etc should be available for custom products.

I also think the paypal checkout for our customers is a pain for custom products as well. The paypal is set up to require our customers to have a paypal account to shop with us. I really dont like this because its to many hoops for our customers to have to jump through. It needs to be easier. I think Zenfolio should set up their paypal to only work with photographers that have paypal web pro accounts as well. This would allow us to have the option to require our customers to have paypal accounts or not. Much more convenient.

Correction to the previous post: PayPal business account allows you to process payments via credit cards, so your clients do not need the PayPal account to complete transactions.

To MichaelFisk: from your e-mail exchange with support, I believe that there's something wrong with your specific PayPal account,  which does not allow you to take credit cards. You will need to resolve this with PayPal.

I've spent time with Paypal on the phone. They said there is definitely nothing wrong with my account. They said the issue is that zenfolio is not set up for accepting credit cards from non-paypal members. They said its the certain shopping cart you guys have set up that determines this and there is nothing I can do, unless it was changed on zenfolio's end. I think they are right, because I have not seen anyones zenfolio account that allows me to use a credit card without signing up for paypal account at checkout. I would love to see an account that has this ability if someone would share.

Also, you said there is something wrong with my paypal account that is not allowing me to accept credit cards. Well I am able to accept credit cards, thats not the issue. The issue I find annoying is that for my clients to use their credit card they HAVE to have a paypal account, and if they dont, they have to create one to shop with me. Its just inconvenient. But like I said, if there is something wrong on my end, I would love to see someone else's cart that does not require clients to sign up with a paypal account. Thanks

Re: List of approved features updated

There are two separate flows scenarios to consider:

    1. Fulfilling orders through Zenfolio partner labs. In this case, there's no need for a client to create a PayPal account if he or she wants to pay with a credit card. The client can pay with the credit card directly through Zenfolio. The customer can also pay with PayPal, and in this case, the PayPal payment goes to Zenfolio, not to the photographer. If the client chooses PayPal, the PayPal page offers two options - create a PayPal account or login with an existing PayPal account. Note, that in this scenario, photographer's PayPal account is not being used.

    2. Fulfilling custom orders.  In this case, the PayPal payment is made directly to the photographer, if photographer wishes to accept PayPal. As long as the photographer as a business account, this page will be displayed to clients. In this case, photographer's PayPal account is used, and has nothing to do with photographer's shopping cart.

I set it up, just for you Smile Go to this gallery: http://demo.zenfolio.com/p405368721

There's a custom product called Custom Patch. Try to purchase the product. You will see the PayPal page offering the option to pay with the credit card.

Thanks so much for the ability to allow downloads.  Do you know if there can be an enhancement to that to allow different sizes of images to be downloaded?  For example if we're shooting weddings on our 5D Mark IIs the 22MP files are a bit large, it would be very cool to allow us to set either fixed resolutions or else customized resolutions and only allow clients to download at those sizes?

    Thanks so much!

Just want to say I'm thrilled with the Facebook option and the drag and drop. The social networking option is a dream come true  -- I don't like posting many photos on Facebook directly but now I can make them come to my web gallery easily! And the improved ease of organizing is very, very welcome. Thanks, you guys! You're the greatest!

I would assume they will get the home page additions (which I believe will include a  large slideshow option) first, and then when they have all the slideshows working that they will be adding, then add the ability to add music to those slideshows...  that would seem to me to be the logical progression anyways.

Re: List of approved features updated

OK... I think this will save the next person a lot of time, because its taken me 2 weeks to figure it out after much time spent with paypal and zenfolio support.

Sooo... If you are having issues with custom products requiring your customer to have a paypal account at checkout, its an easy fix with a setting in your paypal account.

    1. login to paypal

    2. go to profile

    3. go to website payments preferences

    4. turn on "paypal payment checkout optional"

Thats it! Now my customers can checkout with custom products without having to deal with a paypal account. THANKS!
