    360º Product Photography

I have a customer interested in putting some rotate-able 360º photos of products on his website.  I can take the photos, make or buy a turntable to change the view automatically, but does anyone know or can recommend software to easily stitch the photos and create the flash file so I can add the flash to his website?

    Thanks!

Thanks Pam, but that is for landscape type 360's...  I'm looking to be able to rotate a product.  I have seen this used with things like computers, cars, motorcycles, but rather than a view around the subject, I want to rotate the view of the product so you can see it from all sides.  My customer is a manufacturer who has invested in some very state of the art 3D Laser cutting and welding equipment and is looking to showcase some of the products they are producing.

And for those interested, you can check out their website at www.superiorjt.com and watch the video on the front page.  It runs in real time and it's absolutely amazing how quickly they can cut formed metal parts with this machine!

Wow, that thing just blew my mind

That said, since you're using a discrete set of photos, this seems like it should be doable in javascript.  I presume what you're looking for is a self-contained version of something like having all the images in order in a Zenfolio gallery , where you can press left-arrow and right-arrow to rotate the product.

That said, if you get in touch with Planar Systems, they may be able to tell you how they did it (they use Flash).  Here's my monitor, for instance:

Actually, some quick googling turned up
    http://www.flabell.com/flash/360-View-Image-Rotator-69

I know nothing about it at all, and I've never heard of it before, but it seems to do what you want.

    Cheers,

    Re: 360º Product Photography

that example is exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for.  when doing a google search I was only coming up with landscape stuff.

I'll check out this flabell thing more, but at first glance it appears you have to create the flash .swf yourself and then this is the rotator interface.  I don't do flash so I need a more complete solution, but I can modify my search terms now and maybe get better hits...  thanks!

     Hi Kevin

I'm not sure if this is what you need but I think I recall that Photoshop CS4 Extended (has to be the Extended version, I think) has the capacity to create 3D objects from 2 dimensional images and I think thay can be rotated in space.  Don't know if this helps...

thank you and I will check into that!

I am finding plenty of plug-ins for flash, but I don't have nor do I 'do' flash.  I can produce like 36 photos (every 10º) but I need something that will those photos and build a flash animation that will preload them and play them in sequence so it simulates rotation of the product.
