• Re: Square photos render too small

I don't see the difference you described. The second (square) image was tallest (850 pixels) on my screen. The first image was shorter, although had already reached the maximum allowed of 1100 pixels in width. Loved your Chicago gallery! Phil

  • Re: Impressionist Photos

Thanks, Laura and Aaron. This particular dragonfly shot is an example of beginner's dumb luck. It was shot several  years ago when I was just starting to take an interest in dragonfly/damselfly photography. This "Shadow Darner" was flying back and forth at the edge of a pond and suddenly he  began to hover in one ...

  • Re: Impressionist Photos

Perhaps my Dragonfly in Flight fits some concept of "impressionist photography", although it's not quite as abstract as your own examples. I did a fair amount of Photoshop work--mainly texturizing and eliminating/simplifying background detail--to create the effect. Phil http://pirose.zenfolio.com

  • Re: Talk to me about calibration, sRGB, Adobe RGB etc...

Yes, everything on your calibrated monitor should now be "looking darker", since as you surmised, an excessively bright monitor caused your prints to be too dark. The screen's white-point luminance value defines its overall "brightness", and your new calibration hardware/software probably has (automatically) lowered the ...

  • Re: Images in portrait mode are not 1100X850

Your portrait-oriented images are displaying as large as possible (height about 850 pixels) on a 1900x1200 monitor. An ability to scroll would be needed to accommodate a larger height (e.g., 1100), but Zenfolio does not support scrolling. Phil

  • How to have Flash slideshows "share" same space on a web page?

It's nice to have the new slideshow-creation feature. I've successfully entered the code it generates on my home page, and I like the look. Now, what I'd like to do is enable the user to select from a list of several of my ZF galleries and have any selection play in that one designated  slideshow "space" (i.e., the same ...

  • Re: MORE PAGES IN PREMIUM ACCOUNT
But. I still dont see the feature I was wating for. I guess we have to wait.
Ah, I guess so...especially considering that the suggestion was made just a little over one month ago and that many (even more basic) suggestions/requests have been submitted prior to yours. Some of those are still awaiting ...

  • Re: upoading personal photo

Kevin's reply was pretty quick (as usual), but... for that kind of question asking Google would have been much quicker. Or, for future reference there are some online dictionaries devoted to net usage, such as: http://www.netlingo.com/word/afaik.php   Phil

  • Re: problem with over-saturated, color-skewed images- horrifying test results

I apologize if my "hint" (below) has already been covered by someone in this thread--I didn't see it. There's been mention of using the Firefox 3 browser and also the fact that "you have to tell it" to use color management. That is correct, but "telling it" isn't quite as simple as it should be; you ...

  • Re: one click "show detail" feature for users
I'm finding that users/potential buyers are more likely to purchase your pictures one they see the level of detail (no visible when Zenfolio displays the whole photo) of a 100% crop.
I do not doubt you've actually encountered this, yet I do find it hard to believe this kind of request occurs ...
