  • Newbie with simple file size question

We just signed up today, and are looking forward to getting up and running ASAP! Looks like a perfect fit for what we are looking for. I'm sure it's in the "help" area somewhere... but what, if any is the limit or recommended file size to upload .tif files? Obviously, I'd like to...

  • Re: Uploads Jpegs or Tiffs ?

Hiya First don't worry about being in the UK, an update is around the corner which will likely include a European lab plus local currency. Now to your questionaire :-) 1. It's no difference in speed for the viewer if you upload Jpegs or Tiff's. Though you save yourself some considerable time...

  • Re: tiff or jpg...??

As I understand it, the main advantage of tiff files is that they are uncompressed, and so each time they are copied, all of the information gets passed along and none of it gets lost or distorted. They are, however, huge, and outside of the publishing and photography industries they are not a common...

  • Re: My Logo

Yeah I want to know how to do this also, if it can be done. I am referencing the upper left corner of the page, above "About" and my profile picture. I just upgraded to the premium account and I was able to replace the Zenfolio logo, and place " JMR Photography ", but I would like...

  • Support for JPEG XR format?

G'day Guys, Any plans to support JPEG XR soon? The quality vs file size is vastly superior to standard JPG. So good in fact I'm considering no longer storing .tif copies of my final stitched panoramic images at 200MB each. Photoshop plugin: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID...

  • Re: File size is too big?

Well, in that regard, it doesn't really matter what format you use. What matters is the format(s) that the fulfillment company will accept. You may upload a TIFF, but if ZF or the print shop convert to something else (or reject them because they aren't in a format they accept) then you're...

  • Re: Smooth gradations with Thumbnails

[quote user="Aaron Brown"] I'm not noticing it, either. One thing that you could do, by the way, is to introduce a small amount of subtle noise or grain into the shot. The JPEG algorithm by its nature doesn't deal well with extremely smooth gradients, and will seek to band like colors...
  • Re: Upload size

I am a Lightroom user myself, and I use the same workflow as yOOrek. I just save to JPEG before uploading to Zenfolio as the last step.
  • Re: Upload size

JPEG is an often misunderstood file format. The important thing to remember is that saving into a JPEG file format should be the last step in your photo editing flow. If you only save into a JPEG format once, and never edit it again, the quality will be kept very high Problems often arise when a JPEG...
