What's your watermark philosophy?

I would consider my watermark to be on the more "secure" side. I have made that choice for a variety of reasons, but periodically I start to wonder if I am being overly cautious and am doing more harm than good for my photos and myself. I'd like to hear some thoughts from other photographers...

Image Quality

I have a few questions as I am just beginning. Since I can not add a watermark through Zenfolio if the image is larger than 1000 pixels on any side, and I can not upload images over 12 MB (unless I have the Premium plan), how do I maintain the original master file's integrity? I don't know if this was the original request in this post or not, but I would really like the ability to offer digital downloads with watermark at one price and digital downloads at a higher price without watermark without having to upload two different versions of each image. Is this a feature...

You just select the galleries where you want to apply your watermark and add it to all the images in one go. There is no need to individually select your images.

Yes you can adjust the opacity of the watermarks. Select a gallery first, then in your bottom right corner you have the watermark tab, select "Manage Watermarks". A new window will open and you just double click on any of the watermarks you want to adjust, then a new window will appear again...

Thanks Kevin. Good luck! Alan, it is a feature in the premium subscription. It's pretty easy to use and has several zenfolio loaded choices. You can also upload a file. You can also create a watermark in photoshop. If you google for it, you will find many web sites offering tutorials/instructions...
